CNU Florida Virtual Summit 2020

WHO:  Members of the Florida Chapter of the Congress for the New Urbanism, students studying New Urbanism, or anyone interested in how Urbanist principals can be used to create places people love

WHAT: This year's state summit, hosted by the Tallahassee Regional Group, will be all virtual

WHEN:  September 21-25, 2020 Events will start each day at 3 pm

WHERE:  Tallahassee, across the state, and right in your own house

WHY NOW:  In the last six months, the world has changed -- new urbanist, mixed-use spaces are being celebrated, streets are being given back to pedestrians and bicyclists, and urban density is under a microscope like never before.

In so many ways, New Urbanists are uniquely positioned to respond to the unprecedented changes in our street, neighborhoods, and cities across the nation. What better time to collaborate, share, and encourage one another to lead the way to “the new normal.” With no hotel or travel costs, this is the most affordable state summit ever.

Teams should choose an existing vacant lot in their community and propose a solution that is people and community-oriented. The designs should address place and function, and be reflective of the Principles of the CNU Charter and other unique elements. See the UnVacant Lot flyer for more information.
